“BENE! Vita di Carmelo, la macchina attoriale” in Premiere at the Festival dei Popoli

Iconoclastic, brilliant, provocateur. Carmelo Bene was many things: an actor, a philosopher, a playwright, a director, a writer, a poet, among the founders of the new Italian theater.

Produced by Minerva Pictures and Echivisivi, the new documentary film by Samuele Rossi, BENE! Vita di Carmelo, la macchina attoriale, tells the most significant milestones in the life and career of Carmelo Bene, played by the extraordinary Filippo Timi. A journey into the life and artistic legacy of one of the greatest cultural figures of the 20th century in the Italian and European theater scene.

BENE! Vita di Carmelo, la macchina attoriale had its premiere on November 11th at the Festival dei Popoli in Florence, the most important International Documentary Film Festival in Italy and the oldest in Europe.

In attendance at the screening were the director and producer Samuele Rossi, the musician and producer Giuseppe Cassaro, the journalist Pietrangelo Buttafuoco (freshly appointed to the Presidency of the Venice Biennale), and the Director of the Teatro della Toscana Foundation, Marco Giorgetti.
