Debating from different positions, Pier Paolo Pasolini and Giovanni Guareschi tried to answer one of the most important questions about human existence: why are our lives marked by discontent and fear? Pasolini finds the reason in the evil actions carried out by Western society, such as colonialism, while Guareschi tries to defend Western society with its maneuvers in which he sees a hope for the future.
