Angelo is a small swindler who is forced to flee to Los Angeles after being exposed for selling fake paintings. When he arrives in California, he finds himself sleeping on the street, with no money, having to find his way back to health. The great idea comes when he learns the news of the death of a rich Italian-American entrepreneur who looks like him and who has left all the inheritance in the hands of his son George. Angelo, in fact, will appear at the funeral pretending to be his brother.
