- Best Picture.
- Best International Feature Film.
- Best Actor for Wagner Moura, who makes history as the first Brazilian actor ever nominated in this category.
- Best Casting.
The official Oscar nominations follow an impressive streak of triumphs at major international film festivals, starting with the Cannes Film Festival, where the film won two Palme d’Or awards for Best Director and Best Actor, and continuing with two Golden Globe wins for Best Non-English Language Film and Best Actor in a Drama Motion Picture for Wagner Moura.
