The Sean Baker Collection Exclusively on Rarovideo Channel Starting in June

11 May 2026

Minerva Pictures and Rarovideo Channel are pleased to announce that, starting in June, Rarovideo Channel will exclusively premiere the first four feature films by acclaimed independent filmmaker Sean Baker, all previously unreleased in Italy and available exclusively in their original language with subtitles.

This curated selection explores the America of the “invisible,” offering a cinematic vision that blends raw realism with profound humanity — a hallmark of Baker’s fiercely independent filmmaking.

The collection begins with Four Letter Words (2000), Baker’s directorial debut, a generational portrait shaped by conversations, anxieties, and suburban boredom among a group of twenty-somethings.

The journey continues with Take Out (2004), co-directed by Shih-Ching Tsou, an intense story following an undocumented Chinese immigrant in New York as he races against time to repay a debt.

With Prince of Broadway (2008), Baker moves into New York’s fashion district, telling the unexpected story of a Ghanaian immigrant whose life is disrupted by the arrival of a young boy who may be his son.

The collection concludes with Starlet (2012), the film that brought Baker international critical recognition: an unlikely friendship between a young adult film actress and an elderly woman, formed beyond prejudice and social convention.

Don’t miss these essential works by one of the most significant voices in contemporary independent cinema, available exclusively on Rarovideo Channel.
