IDDA at TIFF 2026: Coming to Italian Cinemas

“IDDA” by Irene Dionisio to Be Released in Italian Cinemas by FilmClub Distribuzione and Minerva Pictures
We are delighted to announce that “IDDA”, the new film by Irene Dionisio, starring Tecla Insolia, Romana Maggiora Vergano and Giuseppe De Domenico, will be released in Italian cinemas by FilmClub Distribuzione and Minerva Pictures.
“IDDA” is the only Italian film competing in the prestigious Platform section of the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival, dedicated to works distinguished by a strong directorial vision and innovative, original storytelling.
Tecla Insolia and Romana Maggiora Vergano play Adele and Sofia, two childhood friends who reunite after years apart to keep a promise: reaching the summit of Mount Etna together. Their journey becomes both physical and emotional, bringing desires, memories and regrets back to the surface and transforming the volcano into a powerful inner landscape.

The film is produced by Giovanni Pompili for Kino Produzioni with Rai Cinema, together with Andromeda Film and EDI Effetti Digitali Italiani, in collaboration with Wise Pictures.
