In 1952 Antonio Curti acquires the trademark and the name of the memorable Minerva Cinematografica. In the early 70ies, Ermanno Curti founds the Gruppo Minerva International srl, that from the first years of its activity establish itself in the national business of movie production and distribution, as well as international sales agent.
During the 80ies it extends its business in the international markets. In 1999 publishes its first movie in VHS with Rarovideo: it’s Vinyl, directed by Andy Warhol, and from then on National and European home video exclusives became a constant flagship of the group managed by Gianluca and Stefano Curti, with dvd releases from masters of international cinema, most of them very rare and hard to find on the Italian and International market.
In 2000 Gianluca Curti founds Minerva Pictures Group, the holding company. Minerva/RaroVideo’s philosophy always aimed to diffuse, produce and emphasize the high quality cinema, from the genre movies to the auteurs, ‘till the video-art experimentation.
The published masterpieces are the result of a precise work of restoration from the original negative, research of inedited pieces and unreleased clips, always following the auteur’s philological intentions.
Curated by experts and cinema critics, the dvd editions distinguish themselves for the care and the richness of contents and, as of tradition, they comes with full-bodied books with critic essays and analysis.
